China has launched CHIEF1300, the world’s largest centrifuge, capable of generating 300 times Earth’s gravity on 22-ton loads. Housed in Hangzhou, the facility enables research in geology, oceans, and materials, simulating disasters and extreme environments. Scientists say it will serve as a global hub for advancing engineering and frontier science.
